Midland Railway of England Route Map UK / 1903 / Travel Posters / 101.5x69 Original antique travel advertising poster for the Midland Railway featuring an illustrated map of the train route across Great Britain & Northern Ireland: "Midland Railway (of England) / The best route for comfortable travel & picturesque scenery / The most interesting route to Scotland The new route to Belfast and the North of Ireland / Direct route between principal towns of Great Britain and North of Ireland / 1st and 3rd luncheon and dining cars Sleeping cars High class hotels" with the ferry links to France and continental Europe marked, the coat of arms and an image of St Pancras London Terminus station on the right, the text in stylised letters. Based in Derby the Midland Railway MR operated services from 1846 until 1922 when it became part of the London, Midland and Scottish LMS Railway. Printed by Bemrose & Sons, Ltd, Printers to the Company. Very good condition, restored minor tears and folds, small staining on margins, backed on linen.
