Smith & Sons featuring a painting entitled Britain's Famous Bookshops by Forster. Image of Smith's shopfront in an old black and white timber framed building on the corner of a busy street featuring a smartly dressed man chatting with a lady in a car, a young boy with his dog standing next to a horse, a lady and young girl by the side of the shop and pigeons by a bicycle parked outside the front of the shop. WH Smith was the world's first high street chain store company, founded in London in 1792 by husband and wife, Henry Walton and Anna Smith, selling newspapers, magazines, stationery, books etc. Nantwich is a historic market town in Cheshire. Good condition, restored minor loss and folds, backed on linen.
