Greenwich Maritime Museum London UK / 1930s / Advertising Posters / 100x63 Original vintage advertising poster for the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich London featuring a view inside an historic building with a coat of arms and two large naval paintings of ships at sea on the balcony level and two portraits either side of a globe and a model of a ship below, the stylised text on the bottom margin. The National Maritime Museum was opened 1937 by King George VI with Princess Elizabeth and is the leading maritime museum in the United Kingdom covering 200 acres with over two million objects in its collection (including the 1896-1954 Cutty Sark clipper ship moored on the River Thames at the museum); part of the historic buildings were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997.
