Ager / 102x63 Original vintage travel poster advertising Aberdeen and Commonwealth Line one class service England to Australia via Malta Port Said and Columbo featuring a stunning bright and colourful image of a cruise ship at sunset reflected in the water with a palm tree in the foreground and building and hills on land in the distance. The Aberdeen & Commonwealth Line was founded in 1933 as a result of a buyout between the Aberdeen Line (founded 1825; under the joint control of the White Star Line and Shaw, Savill & Albion Line since 1905) and the Australian Commonwealth Line (founded 1916); the company was dissolved in 1957. Printed by Gibbs and Gibbs Ltd, London. Very good condition, restored pinholes and folds, backed on linen.
