Goldberg Auctioneers / February Pre-Long Beach (#67) - 29/01/2012 / $10.00 Gold / Lot 1818
1907 $10 Indian. No periods. NGC MS63 Quite lustrous featuring pale olive and light color gold. The design finally put into circulation for the 1907 Indian $10 is partly by Saint-Gaudens, but it has been modified by Charles E. Barber. The relief is less bold than on the Rolled Edge and Wire Edge pieces (and the triangular dots are omitted), the branch is differently shaped, a curl encroaches on IBE, some letters are differently shaped, and feather ends are clearer--though central hair and feathers are not. This type continued through part of 1908, and is commonly called "Indian, no motto." . Estimated Value $2,400 - 2,500.
