Historics at Brooklands / Brooklands Museum 4th March 2017 Cars - 04/03/2017 / 1985 Porsche 944 Lux / Lot 149
The Porsche 944 was built from 1982 to 1991 and was built on the same platform as the 924. It was intended to last into the 1990's but major revisions planned for a 944 S3 model were eventually rolled into the 968 instead which replaced the 944. The 944 was a successful model and was available as both a coupé and cabriolet in naturally aspirated and turbocharged forms. In mid-1985, the Porsche 944 underwent significant changes. The new Porsche owners were attracted by the stunning looks and presence of the model and in 1985, the 'Lux' coupé arrived with a completely new interior design dominated by a smooth, sweeping oval dashboard. This severed all ties with the 924 and completed the move upmarket for the 944. This one owner Porsche is in exceptional conditional and is certainly in a condition commensurate with such a low mileage. The vendor has had the car maintained meticulously, when he decided to sell the car he immediately put the car in for a service with GT One Ltd in Chertsey, a new water pump was fitted along with a new cambelt the total invoice was £2,032.81. Throughout the 32 years this car has been on the road, she has always been very well maintained and as such, presents in superb condition throughout. The paintwork is unmarked and the interior is virtually as new, the vendor stated he is not sure that the rear seat has ever been sat in. Supplied with a V5C registration document, a current MoT test certificate valid until 5 July 2017 and a history folder; C350CBW is one of the finest 944's we have seen for a long time.
