*Please Note, the registration Plate is NOT supplied with the car* The 308GTB was launched at the Paris motor show in 1975 with the targa topped GTS available in 1977 and was built alongside the 308GT4 as a replacement for the 246 Dino. Designed by Leonardo Fioravanti, the man who styled some of the most iconic Ferrari's including the Daytona, the new 308 sported a rakish and attractive body which fused classic elements of Ferrari styling with a thoroughly modern design. For the first two years of production the body of the 308 was produced in fibreglass after which steel was used. The 308 shared a similar tube frame chassis as the original Dino and 308GT4 and four-wheel double-wishbone independent suspension. The engine was a V8 unit positioned behind the driver and was transversely mounted with double overhead camshafts and four 40DCNF Weber carburettors complemented by the five speed synchromesh manual gearbox. First registered on 3 June 1980, the current vendor acquired this splendid example on 8 August 2003. During his nine year stewardship, the GTS has been well maintained with a good level of history and receipts available, most of the previous MoT test certificates are also available confirming the mileage which is believed to be correct. The vendor is sad to see this much loved Ferrari vacate his garage and in his own words ""weekends will never be quite the same"". Finished in the traditional colour combination of Rosso Corsa with contrasting black leather interior, this 308GTS is supplied with a V5 registration document and a current MoT test certificate. A fine example and a great opportunity to purchase an extremely useable and striking classic Ferrari.
